Christopher Mayer

Colonel Christopher T. Mayer, U.S. Army, Retired, has wide experience in combat, post combat reconstruction, and humanitarian operations. From July 2007 through January 2008, he was Chief of Civil Military Coordination for the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). Other assignments included coordinating interagency support for stability and reconstruction operations in Iraq and Afghanistan; Chief of Staff, Program Management Office Coalition Provisional Authority (2004-2005) -- responsible for the strategic reconstruction of Iraq; Commander, Fort Knox Emergency Operations Center; Chief of Civil Military Operations for the Theater Support Command in Germany; Brigade Chief of Operations and Training; Instructor, Command and General Staff College; and various staff and leadership positions in cavalry squadrons and armor units in Germany, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Colonel Mayer is also a Search and Rescue Pilot, Emergency Management Incident Commander, and Adjunct Faculty for the Naval War College. Col. Mayer's last assignment was the Chief of Staff of the Core Group in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Global Security Affairs. He is currently the Director of Armed Contingency Contractor Policies and Programs for the Department of Defense, responsible for the department's utilization of Private Security Companies. Separately, he is president of Xenophonix, a non profit organization.
